Heir
Family lineage and ancestors represent the deep roots that connect us to our personal and collective history.
From a symbolic and emotional perspective, each of us carries with us an “invisible inheritance,” composed of beliefs, values, experiences, traumas, and lessons passed down from generation to generation.
This legacy, although often not consciously perceived,
influences our decisions, emotions, and ways of seeing the world.
The braid as a symbol, tangibly intertwines the threads of our history, reflecting both the unity and complexity
of the generations that preceded us.
“Indra Zabala worked on her emotional heritage, accompanied by a braid, during a performance exercise at Jessica Walker’s Body Expression Lab @laboratorio_escuela
in December 2024,
and wanted to immortalise it
surrounded by other women through this creative exercise.”
